YES! All of our teachers are native Deaf ASL users.

For either zoom or in-person classes, we are happy to offer another class in the same week. View the makeups page to see your options, then email contact@signlanguagecenter.com to reserve your spot in class.
Please note that makeup classes are only valid for the same week that you have missed!

Yes! For current students who miss a class, it will cost $70 for a one hour session. For non-students and non makeup classes, tutoring is still $100 per person/hour.

E-notes include slides you learned during class, including ASL vocabulary and the full lesson. They are free with your class and sent at the beginning of the semester.

One you join conversational classes, you can continue as many times as you like. It’s an ongoing class where students focus on practice and everyday ASL and is less structured around vocabulary and more focused on sharing and storytelling.

You will start learning ASL once you join our first class, but as with any other language, it will take time to become fluent. It depends on your motivation, determination and willingness to immerse yourself in the language and culture. To improve, we highly suggest attending events and practicing with peers!

Yes, we do. The age limit for our adult classes is 14 years of age and older. If you have a younger child, you have the option of private tutoring or creating your own customized group. Email contact@signlanguagecenter.com to coordinate.

After completing all 6 Levels and 1-2 years of conversational classes, you should feel confident to apply to an external interpreting program. Once you are prepared to apply, we will support you! SLC does not currently offer interpreting certifications.

Not from taking our classes but we prepare you so that you can definitely apply for interpreting programs or other Deaf related careers!

Depending on where you live, there are many DNO (Deaf nights out), ASL poetry nights, ASL Slam, and social meet ups. Do your research! We also offer Social nights monthly, which you can view on our events page.

NEVER! ASL is a visual language. You will SEE that using ONE language during class will improve your expressive and receptive skills.
*Unforeseeable and unavoidable catastrophes or natural disaster that interrupt the expected course of classes is not the responsibility of SLC. We will cancel class as we see appropriate and offer recordings, online class or a makeup option.
