Darrell is a 3rd generation Deaf person with a background as a manager, day trader, ASL consultant, and community organizer. A former child actor on some notable TV shows such as Family Ties, Days of Our Lives, and Beverly Hills 90210, to name a few. After attending Gallaudet University, he worked as a supervisor for an agency serving developmentally disabled adults, screening interpreters as a quality assurance analyst for a video relay service, and eventually becoming a regional manager, and once apprenticed at Mozzeria - a deaf owned business in San Francisco.
A lifelong advocate for ASL, he has been involved with organizations, such as the California Association of the Deaf, and an advisory board for the mayor of the City of Riverside. He also mentored interpreters from training programs and families of Deaf children, guiding them to proper ASL acquisition. Currently, he finds joy in teaching/tutoring ASL on Zoom with Sign Language Center.
