AJ was raised in the vibrant landscapes of Albuquerque, New Mexico. AJ's journey began at the age of 16, at the New Mexico School for the Deaf’s summer camp where he embraced his Deaf identity. It was a key that unlocked a world of belonging, a rich culture and community.
AJ continued his education at Gallaudet University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Fueled by a passion for advocacy and wellness, AJ works with the Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled and Hard of Hearing community with a focus on mental health awareness, accessibility, and inclusion.
AJ finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it’s playing sports, cooking, traveling, enjoying music, or spending cherished moments with his two kids and his beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever in Long Beach, California.
