Hello! My name is Samantha Jo! I am profoundly Deaf. I am the 4th generation of a Deaf family and my daughter is now the 5th. I was born and raised in the Bronx, NYC. I currently reside in Austin, TX. I graduated from New York School for the Deaf in 2007. I have been teaching ASL since I was only 10 years old ; starting with my brothers! Teaching ASL is one of my passions and I love teaching my language. My belief is that it is very beautiful to share Deaf culture, our rich language spread awareness of ASL. I used to be in SLC teams but unfortunately in 2022, I nearly died from Multiple Sclerosis. I survived and experienced new journey of recovery. Now, I am halfway through fully recovered from death experience. I’m BACK to SLC !!! So so very excited to be on this team once again! As I mentioned earlier ASL is my passion… Fun Facts, I am autistic, I am very athletic (play almost all sports), and I am a very fun and positive person spreading love wherever I go! && the most fun fact is my “ twin “ brother David is now in this SLC team!!!
